Midday Cooler: Apple Grape Punch


¼ cup Ceres Grape Juice
¼ cup Ceres Apple Juice
½ cup boiling water
1 stick of cinnamon
1 apple tea bag
¼ tsp nutmeg
1-2 cloves and a couple of thin apple slices

Boil water and add the cloves. Place tea bag in water to gently infuse flavour, along with the stick of cinnamon for five minutes. Remove tea bad and spices and dust tea with nutmeg. Pour into a warmed heat resistant glass pitcher and mix in the Ceres fruit juices. Server with apple slices. Use cinnamon stick as stirrer. Serves 2.


Refreshment: Power Punch Medley


½ cup Ceres Orange Juice
½ cup Ceres Medley of Fruits Juice
1 cup non-fat soy milk
1 frozen banana
1 tsp peanut butter
2 tsp wheat germ
½ cup strawberries fresh or frozen (without sugar)

Blend Ceres Medley of Fruits and Ceres Orange Juice with non-fat soy milk. Add frozen banana, peanut butter and strawberries and blend till smoothie consistency is reached. You may blend the wheat germ in with the other ingredients or just sprinkle on top of frozen drink. Serves 2.


Smoothie: Vanilla Mango Smoothie


1 large orange
½ cup Ceres Orange Juice
1½ cups Ceres Mango Juice
½ cup Vanilla low-fat or fat-free yoghurt (frozen)

Peel orange and remove pips if desired. Separate into segments. These too can be frozen prior to blending. Place all ingredients in blender and blend gently. Use rind of orange as a garnish by twirling it on a skewer. Serves 2.


Health Booster: Rubie Tutie Vitamin C Tonic


1½ cups Ceres Ruby Grapefruit Juice
½ cup Ceres Orange Juice
½ cup sparkling mineral water
1 ruby grapefruit
Scoop crushed ice
1 tsp honey

Pour the Ceres fruit juices into blender. Peel grapefruit, chop up into chunks and remove pips if preferred. Blend all ingredients and sweeten with honey is desired. Mix the water and juice and pour over crushed ice. Use rind of ruby grapefruit to garnish. Serves 2.


Sundowner: Cranberry Kiwi Apple Sparkle Sensation


1 cup Ceres Secretes of the Valley or Apple, Berry and Cherry Juice
1 cup Ceres Cranberry & Kiwi Juice
2 mixed berry tea bags
2 cups boiling water
2 tsp sugar/honey
Couple of thin apple slices/kiwi slices

Boil water and add the two teabags. Leave tea bags to infuse flavour for approximately five minutes. Remove the tea bad and mix in the Ceres juices. Honey is a natural sweetener and also an energy provider. Garnish with apple and kiwi slices. Serves 4.


Midday Cooler: Mint Litchi Summertime Cooler


1½ cups Ceres Litchi Juice
1 small bunch fresh mint
1 cup sparkling mineral water
¼ cup boiling water
Scoop crushed ice
1 tsp honey (optional)

Wash bunch of mint thoroughly. Slice off a few sprigs and break up and bruise the rest by gently rubbing them through fingers. Place in boiling water and let stand for a few minutes for mint flavour to infuse. Now add the honey. Mix with the chilled Ceres Litchi Juice and slowly add the sparkling mineral water. Use sprigs of mint and crushed ice to garnish. Serves 2.


Sundowner: Passion Fruit Crush


1 cup Ceres Passion Fruit or Whispers of Summer Juice
Scoop of crushed ice
1 passion fruit
1 tsp honey
Sparkling mineral water

Pour Ceres juice into cocktail shaker. Half the passion fruit and hollow out the fruit from the shell. Add to the shaker along with the crushed ice and honey. Shake vigorously to blend all ingredients. Pour the crushed ice mixture into two glass tumblers. Top up with sparkling mineral water. Use edible flower of your choice to garnish. Serves 2.


Mood Enhancer: Grape Chamomile Toddy


1 cup Ceres White Grape Juice
1 chamomile tea bag
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp honey (optional)
Freshly grated ginger
Edible flower and grapes to garnish

Place the chamomile tea bag in the cup of boiling water. Grate a couple of shavings of ginger and add to the water while chamomile infuses. Heat the Ceres Grape Juice through in a saucepan and add the chamomile/ginger tea blend. The honey is optional to taste. Serves 2.


Exotic Punch

1 Litre Liqui-Fruit SummerPine
500ml Liqui-Fruit Apricot
1 Litre Liqui-Fruit Peach & Orange
2 x 115g granadilla pulp
750ml light white wine
500ml ginger ale
825g pineapple chunks
50g red glazed cherries

Mix all the ingredients together and leave in the fridge to chill well. For a slightly sweeter punch add more ginger ale.


Carrot Mould

1 pkt orange jelly (80g)
250ml hot Liqui-Fruit SummerPine
140ml crushed pineapple
140ml finely grated carrots
5ml lemon juice
70ml coleslaw salad dressing

Dissolve the jelly in the hot Liqui-Fruit SummerPine. Mix all the ingredients and set in a small ring mould. Turn out on a bed of lettuce.


Chicken Salad with Mango Dressing

6 chicken potions, cooked and cut into pieces
half cucumber, sliced
1 tin mangoes, drained
2 celery sticks, chopped
50ml sultanas
a few lettuce leaves

Dressing
125ml Liqui-Fruit Mango & Orange
3ml soy sauce
5ml dry mustard
20ml chutney
5ml lemon juice
black pepper

Combine all the ingredients for the dressing, pour over salad and toss salad to coat all ingredients.
